چکیده
Abstract Molybdenum dialkyl dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) is a friction reducing additive commonly used in lubricants. MoDTC works by forming low-friction molybdenum disulphide (MoS 2 ) film (tribofilm) on rubbed surfaces. MoDTC-induced MoS tribofilms have been studied extensively ex-situ ; however, there no consensus the chemical mechanism of its formation process. By combining Raman spectroscopy with tribometer, effects temperature and shear stress tribofilm steel-steel contacts were examined. Time-resolved spectra acquired , together instantaneous coefficient. The constantly being formed removed mechanically during rubbing. Increasing promotes formation. nature temperature-dependent, high-temperature giving higher than lower films. Below critical T c small amount gives significant reduction. Above c, patchy more substantial amorphous carbon attributed to base oil degradation, forms. composition this evolves rubbing temporal correlation found between signal intensity friction. Our results highlight mechanochemical process role degradation effectiveness modifier MoDTC.

Temperature dependence of continuum and time resolved photoluminescence of germanium nanostructures
Germanium nanostructures were generated in the post annealed germanium oxide thin films. Visible and near infrared photoluminescence bands were observed in the samples annealed at 350°C and 400°C, respectively. These different luminescence ranges are attributed to the presence of the defects in oxide matrix and quantum confinement effect in the germanium nanostructures, respectively. Decay ti...
متن کاملFemtosecond time-resolved Raman spectroscopy using stimulated Raman scattering
Femtosecond Raman spectroscopy has been developed to investigate ultrafast photoinduced structural changes of materials. Vibrational modes in the photogenerated transient species are measured by stimulated Raman scattering using a Raman pump pulse with narrow bandwidth and a femtosecond supercontinuum probe pulse. The Raman signal can be measured without slowing the temporal response and broade...

متن کاملTime-resolved Raman spectroscopy for in situ planetary mineralogy.
Planetary mineralogy can be revealed through a variety of remote sensing and in situ investigations that precede any plans for eventual sample return. We briefly review those techniques and focus on the capabilities for on-surface in situ examination of Mars, Venus, the Moon, asteroids, and other bodies. Over the past decade, Raman spectroscopy has continued to develop as a prime candidate for ...
متن کاملA time-resolved 128128 SPAD camera for laser Raman spectroscopy
In this paper we present a time-gated single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) array, the first of its kind to be integrated with a newly developed time-resolved laser Raman spectrometer. Time-resolved Raman spectra from various highly fluorescent minerals were successfully observed using our SPAD array; these spectra were obscured by an overwhelming fluorescence background when measured using a tr...
